Unfortunately the Anglo-sphere Right embraced Global Capitalism hypa Individualism, Liberalism and Consumerism. No wonder they lost ground on socal issues every year from 1945.

They are completely captured by international finance.

A Burke-Scruton position needs another name. "Conservative" is impossible to separate from the party of weaponised expediency.

no, the tories eed to redefine themselves as a party of principles and what those principles are. At the moment they seem to stand for nothhing. Same as Labour with policies little different.

You seem to define conservatism as unchanging and clinging to the past. But there has always been a radical strand to conservatism - e.g. Disraeli, Thatcher. I have always seen it has holding to the best if the past but changing to changing circumstaces. Without the radical element we stagnate.
